Subject: Has anyone every had a saddle appraised?

I have a saddle that has a lot of sentimental value to me, and it is a very well made saddle. I won't get rid of it because of sentimental value, but I do want to be sure to have documentation of its approximate value should something happen to it. From what I have been able to find on the internet about the maker, it is a rare saddle - Billy Joe Rogers of Wylie, TX. It is a handmade saddle that is older (approximately 20-30yrs in age is my guess), but very nice and in really good shape. I was only able to find about 3 saddles for sale by this maker, ranging in price $650-1300.

Has anyone ever had an appraisal done? Any recommendations on how I can create a record of the approximate value?
