As far as deworming, all commercial cattle/sheep/etc are dewormed with essentially the same dewormers we use for our horses. Ivermectin, Fendendazole (Panacur), etc... They are also vaccinated for Tetanus and a number of other things although not the influenza, west nile, etc ones like we do for horses.
Personally, I would be concerned with a lot of the daily supplements folks give horses though... Red Cell, Hoof supplements, etc...
I guess that is why I raise a lot of my own meat and buy what I do not locally... I at least know pretty much what I am getting...
