Most of the horses I have used our Mylers on really work well in them.

Yes, they are considered a curb bit, IF you put your reins throught the slots on the bottom of the "D", it is then considered a "fixed" rein and then requires a curb chain (and the equipment judges at Pinto World show were VERY picky about these bits!). You have to put your hooks for the chain in the slots at the top of the "D". I think we may have our headstall cheek pieces and the curb chain hooks through the same slots.

It is best to go to their website, or a catalog like Rods or Dover and see a picture of one set up with the curb chain in place.

I have had a lot of people ask me how to properly set up these bits, so you are not alone in wondering, LOL! :)
